Transitioning to a plant based diet doesn’t have to be scary – it’s your journey!!

I recently met a gorgeous lady at our market stall. She mentioned that she had recently purchased a book about plant based diets and wanted to get started straight away to become healthier and to start eating clean whole foods. I immediately picked up on her anxiety so I suggested to her that perhaps she just change one meal a week or whatever she felt capable to do while she was transitioning. She had unknowingly put so much pressure on herself to change her whole life around immediately! You should have seen the relief on her face when she asked “Can I really do that? Is it that simple?” and my answer was YES!! Don’t get me wrong, there are many people who choose to jump in “boots and all” when they decide they want a lifestyle change, however for most of us it has to be gradual, just like this gorgeous lady. She walked away with a heap of recipes that I gave her and a big smile on her face. I felt so happy to have been able to help her in a small way begin her whole food journey.

We are all on our own journey and guess what – we make the rules for ourselves! We are totally responsible for what we put into our mouths to nourish our bodies, to keep our body’s healthy, clean and happy. In this fast paced day and age, eating whole and nutritious foods is becoming foreign to many people and so low on the priority list. Unfortunately there is an abundance of preservative filled pre packaged foods and cheap unhealthy take away meals on every street corner. And sadly there are many people who are shying away from the kitchen and have no idea how to cook and  grow their own food. The good news is it doesn’t have to be that way! For me, when I made the change and reconnected with the food that I was putting into my body I have in turn reconnected with myself. I still have a long way to go on my own journey of self love however I made a New Years Resolution this year to be my own best friend 🙂

This is the essence of A Kinder Way and why we want to share our own journey and love of plant based organic foods with you
